You can now leave “Wait for” empty on a Delay step and turn on “Only during business hours”. Inside business hours the step lets contacts through right away. Outside them it holds contacts until business hours start, which is useful for leads that arrive overnight. The step reads “Wait until business hours”, and the automation can be turned on and edited while it’s live. The 1-minute wait you may have used to work around this is no longer needed.
A Delay step with no wait time and “Only during business hours” turned off still has nothing to wait for. It now shows in red as “Set a wait time”, whether or not you’ve edited it, and the automation can’t be turned on until it’s fixed.
When that stops an automation from turning on, the message names the step by its number, for example “Step 3: This delay has no wait time. Set a wait time or turn on Only during business hours.” In the builder, that step also opens and is highlighted. If you have unsaved changes when you turn an automation on, the builder saves them first.
